España Original (Food & Drink), CoC Ciudad Real
Despite flight cancellations caused by volcanic ash, Hispanic accompanied a group of 10 UK and Republic of Ireland buyers to España Original in Ciudad Real in May. Feedback was very positive and three UK companies have already declared an interest in doing business with some of the producers. Ultracomida, a cheese distributor, have already signed up several new suppliers from the Fair.

Following on from this successful trade tasting, wines from Bodegas Vincente Gandia can now be found at Cassidy Wines Ltd in Dublin.

3 Month Market Entry Projects

Asturex (Asturias) Hispanic has completed a project for Farmavari, a foot orthotics company supplying pharmacies and healthcare. Having introduced Farmavari products to UK importers and buyers, arranged delivery of samples, we finished the project with meetings with three UK companies who had expressed interest. Feedback from Farmavari is very positive and their products will shortly be available in the UK through a UK distributor.

Hispanic Limited are in the final stages of a project with Escaleras Arizona, a Spanish company producing Escafibra™ ladders for the electricity distribution and communications sector. Having researched the market and promoted the company to the UK market, we are now in the final stages of arranging a meetings agenda across the UK with potential buyers.

Hispanic Limited has now completed a project with Sintal (www.sintal.es) promoting special metal profiles produced under technical plans to the UK market. We closed the project by arranging meetings with 3 UK companies, an agent, a private client and a UK company looking to collaborate on a joint venture. Sintal are now in further discussions with these companies and feedback has been very positive.

Asturex, Spain
Foro Metal is the Workshop/Forum for experts in the metal sector from over forty countries. Taking place in June, Hispanic Limited researched the market and invited the procurement managers from companies from UK/Republic of Ireland to join an expenses paid mission to the forum. Hispanic is now following up this Fair by bringing together Spanish engineering companies with UK buyers who had expressed interest in products but were unable to travel to the Fair due to difficulties caused by volcanic ash.

FIVE-Bio (International Wine Exhibition)
AEN (Association of Organic winegrowers in Navarra, Spain)
FIVE (www.five-bio.com) aims to become the premier showcase for organic wines from South Western Europe. Hispanic Limited identified and invited 2 buyers from organic companies to attend this brand new trade fair on behalf of AEN and feedback was extremely positive.

Xtend2 researched the UK and Republic of Ireland wedding dress market for this Italian wedding dress designer, interviewed relevant fashion media and buyers to discover their buying requirements. We also invited those buyers interested in the ranges of wedding dresses to visit the workshop in Bari to view the dresses first hand. We produced a report for the designer and, based on the interviews with buyers, made recommendations to help the designer enter the UK market.

Trade Relations

Hispanic Limited is the official food and drink trade promoter for the export department of the Chamber of Commerce of Aragon (Aragon Exterior) and covers the UK and Republic of Ireland. Alvaro Rey, a Director of Hispanic Limited, was recently invited to attend meeting with companies from Aragon interested in promoting their goods to the UK and Republic of Ireland markets. Alvaro discussed the UK market generally, looked at the viability of products for the market and explained the various projects offered by Hispanic to introduce products into the UK and Republic of Ireland. Hispanic is now building market entry plans for a number of these companies to start later in the year.

Trade Fair Representation

Xtend2 is the official UK and Republic of Ireland representative for BEC (Bilbao Exhibition Centre) We have just recruited two UK companies to attend BIEMH (the Biennial Machine Tool Trade Fair).

Public Relations

Working with the Chamber of Commerce of Ciudad Real and Castilla La Mancha regional television, Hispanic Limited arranged interviews with 2 UK importers of products from Castilla La Mancha for their news programme. The importers discussed UK perceptions of products from Castilla La Mancha and future prospects.

Hispanic Limited is working with a Spanish trade association to produce an in depth market report on the UK food and drink market, including interviews with key players, an analysis of trends and opportunities and a review of packaging, labelling and pricing.
